How to Knit Dash Stitch | English and Continental Style

Dash stitch creates little dash lines on the knitted fabric. In this tutorial, I am going to demonstrate how to knit 3×3 dash stitch, you can change the numbers to suit your project’s needs.

(Flat knitting)
Cast on a multiple of 3 stitches
Row 1 (RS): (k3, p3) repeat to end
Row 2 (WS): purl
Row 3 (RS): (p3, k3) repeat to end
Row 4 (WS): purl
Repeat Row 1-4 to desired length

(Circular knitting)
Cast on a multiple of 3 stitches
Rnd 1 (RS): (k3, p3) repeat to end
Rnd 2 (RS): knit
Rnd 3 (RS): (p3, k3) repeat to end
Rnd 4 (RS): knit
Repeat Rnd 1-4 to desired length
