
Long tail cast on is great for knitting projects that start with a knit row or a purl row, but it’s not suitable for ribbed stitch that alternates knit and purl in the same row. However, we can reinvent the basic long tail cast on to fit ribbed stitch, all we need to do is to alternate long tail cast on rib stitch and for purl stitch.
