Recently, I’ve been working on a new knitting project – a pair of elbow length fingerless mittens.
I happened to have a ball of super fine wool yarn, which was left over from one of my sweater project years ago. So I decided to utilize the yarn and create a pair of fingerless mittens out of it.
It took me some time to think of a simple stitch for these mittens, I finally chose double garter rib stitch, which is elegant and simple and uses only knit and purl stitches. And the double garter rib is also a reversible stitch, meaning you can use either side as the Right Side, it’s totally up to you. These mittens are warm enough during cold weather.
The mittens are fingerless, you just knit a long rectangular piece, then sew two edge seams together, leaving a gap for your thumbs, and voila! Your mittens are completed.
I’ve created a video for this project, you can also find a free pattern for the mittens below.
