Peacock Plume | Knitting Stitch Patterns

Peacock plume stitch is a beautiful knitting stitch for sweaters or cardigans. To make the stitch, you’ll knit make one right (m1r) , make one left (m1l) and centered double decrease to form the plume shape.

Peacock Plume
Cast on a multiple of 16 sts plus 1
Row 1 (RS): K2tog, (k3, p3, m1r, k1, m1l, p3, k3, sl2, k1, p2sso) rep to end (last 2 sts are ssk)
Row 2, 16 (WS): (P4, k3, p3, k3, p3) rep to last st, p1
Row 3: K2tog, (k2, p3, m1r, k3, m1l, p3, k2, sl2, k1, p2sso) rep to end (last 2 sts are ssk)
Row 4, 14: (P3, k3, p5, k3, p2) rep to last st, p1
Row 5: K2tog, (k1, p3, m1r, k5, m1l, p3, k1, sl2, k1, p2sso) rep to end (last 2 sts are ssk)
Row 6, 12: (P2, k3, p7, k3, p1) rep to last st, p1
Row 7: K2tog, (p3, m1r, k7, m1l, p3, sl2, k1, p2sso) rep to end (last 2 sts are ssk)
Row 8, 10: (P1, k3, p9, k3) rep to last st, p1
Row 9: K1, (p3, k4, bobble, k4, p3, k1) rep to end
Row 11: K1, (m1l, p3, k3, sl2, k1, p2sso, k3, p3, m1r, k1) rep to end
Row 13: K1, (k1, m1l, p3, k2, sl2, k1, p2sso, k2, p3, m1r, k2) rep to end
Row 15: K1, (k2, m1l, p3, k1, sl2, k1, p2sso, k1, p3, m1r, k3) rep to end
Row 17: K1, (k3, m1l, p3, sl2, k1, p2sso, p3, m1r, k4) rep to end
Row 18, 20: (P5, k3, p1, k3, p4) rep to last st, p1
Row 19: K1, (k4, p3, k1, p3, k4, bobble) rep to end
Repeat Row 1-20 to desired length.

Bobble
Row 1 (RS): Kfbf. (3 sts)
Row 2 (WS): Purl.
Row 3: Sl2, k1, p2sso. (1 st)

Stitch Glossary
knit into fbf : Knit into front, back, front of same stitch.
m1 left leaning : Make 1 knitwise (left leaning).
m1 right leaning : Make 1 knitwise (right leaning).
sl2, k1, p2sso : Slip 2 stitches together, k1, then pass slipped stitches over.
