It’s recommended that you choose ribbed cast on for this stitch (such as long tail cast on for rib stitch) to achieve the best result.
(Flat knitting)
Start by casting on a multiple of 2 stitches.
Row 1 (RS): (K1, P1) repeat to the end
Row 2 (WS): Knit the purl stitches and purl the knit stitches (If you don’t understand what this means, please refer to this post).
Repeat Row 2 to desired length.
(Circular knitting)
Start by casting on a multiple of 2 stitches.
Round 1: (K1, P1) repeat that across
Round 2: Knit the purl stitches and purl the knit stitches.
Repeat Round 2 to desired length.
Watch to Learn
Watch this video to learn how to knit Seed Stitch, to simplify the process, I am using a basic long tail cast on in the video, which is OK but is not the best option for ribbed stitch.
