(Flat knitting)
Cast on a multiple of 5 stitches
Row 1 (RS): Knit
Row 2 (WS): (k1, p4) repeat to end
Row 3 (RS): (k3, p2) repeat to end
Row 4 (WS): (k3, p2) repeat to end
Row 5 (RS): (k1, p4) repeat to end
Row 6 (WS): knit
Repeat Row 1-6 to desired length
(Circular knitting)
Cast on a multiple of 5 stitches
Rnd 1 (RS): Knit
Rnd 2 (RS): (k4, p1) repeat to end
Rnd 3 (RS): (k3, p2) repeat to end
Rnd 4 (RS): (k2, p3) repeat to end
Rnd 5 (RS): (k1, p4) repeat to end
Rnd 6 (RS): purl
Repeat Rnd 1-6 to desired length
