Brick wall stitch is, as the name suggests, like a brick wall. You use two color yarn and make slip stitch regularly to create a brick wall.
BRICK WALL
(Flat knitting)
Cast on a multiple of 6 stitches + 1
Knit 2 rows of stockinette in color A
Row 3 (RS): with color B, k1, (sl1 purlwise, k5) rep to end
Row 4 (WS): (p5, sl1 purlwise) rep to last st, p1
Row 5 (RS): repeat Row 3
Row 6 (WS): repeat Row 4
Row 7 (RS): with color A, k1, (k all 4 sts below together, k5) rep to end
Row 8 (WS): purl
Row 9 (RS): with color B, k1, (k3, sl1 purlwise, k2) rep to end
Row 10 (WS): (p2, sl1 purlwise, p3) rep to last st, p1
Row 11 (RS): repeat Row 9
Row 12 (WS): repeat Row 10
Row 13 (RS): k1, (k3, k 4 sts below together, k2)rep to end
Row 14 (WS): purl
Repeat Row 1-14 to desired length
