How to Knit Fisherman’s Rib | English and Continental Style

Fisherman’s rib is a common stitch that alternates between knit and knit 1 below.

(Flat knitting)
Cast on a multiple of 2 stitches
Row 1 (RS): Knit
Row 2 (WS): (Knit 1, Knit 1 below) repeat to end
Row 3 (RS): (Knit 1, Knit 1 below) repeat to end
Repeat Row 2-3 to desired length

(Circular knitting)
Cast on a multiple of 2 stitches
Rnd 1 (RS): Knit
Rnd 2 (RS): (Purl 1, Purl 1 below) repeat to end
Rnd 3 (RS): (Knit 1, Knit 1 below) repeat to end
Repeat Rnd 2-3 to desired length
